#OOTD // Camo

T shirt/Jeans - Next
Boots - New Look (old)
Necklace - Dorothy Perkins
Cardigan - Jane Norman (old)

I really love this t shirt from Next. The material is so soft and drapes well. It has a very flattering fit and s long enough to look great with either jeans or leggings. Here's some other ways I plan to wear it.

Today was the first day I've ventured out of the house minus a jacket, yay!

#OOTD // Spring pastels

Top, cardigan - Next
Jeans, boots, necklace - New Look

I really want to wear my new spring clothes but it's still so cold here so I'm making do with this combo today. The jeans are the Supersoft Skinny jeans from New Look which really are lovely, stretchy and comfy but they don't bag out at the knees at all. They do them in a variety of colours and are great for adding a bit of zing to an outfit.

#OOTD // and Next reviews

So, yesterday I picked up a few goodies from the current Next catalogue and thought I'd share them. I actually ended up returning everything but then I saw some nice pieces in store and they came home with me instead..

I have to say that I do really like Next for the quality of the clothes in general. Where I live there isn't a whole lot of choice in clothing stores so you will notice that most of what I buy tends to be Next, New Look, or Dorothy Perkins, with the occasional M&S (but I prefer them for accessories rather than their clothes... sorry to those that love them but a lot of their clothing to me veers on the frumpy side).

So first off I ordered this. I liked the lace front but was rather disappointed for one reason. It isn't lined.

So you would need to wear a cami with it or flash the world your bra. Thanks but no thanks.

Next, these.

I really liked them but struggled to get them on and I hate shoes that take me forever to put on when I'm in a rush. Lol.  I'm after some funky black sneakers as it's been a wardrobe hole for a while but I think I will get some Chucks since I know they work for me. I have a red pair already and wear them tons.

And these.

I really really wanted them to work. But they felt too tight on me, I got an 8R, which is my usual size in Next and while they do up they feel a bit too snug and since they are for work I felt that was not appropriate. I grabbed a similar pair in a 10 as I was leaving but upon getting home and trying them on I realised they were more of a baby bootcut style, a tad short and rather loose around the waist so back they will go. I've ordered the 10 of the above pair (the Ultimate Straight Leg Trousers) so hopefully they will work.  I have a bootcut pair already that I wear to death and want a straight legged pair to wear with flats to work.

I returned the watch as well as it was rather big around my wrist and I really can't be doing with getting it altered. So sorry, so lazy.

Onto the pieces I did bring home. I have a top like this in aqua on order so tried on this pink version in store. Love.

And this metallic vest that I think will be awesome to wear to gigs. It's shiny and looks dressed up yet casual enough to wear to a pub gig with leggings or black jeans and heels. Needs a better bra underneath though.

I have some more things on their way to me Friday so will see how they do!

Finally onto today's outfit.

Cardigan - Jane Norman - old
Leopard top - New Look
Leggings - Next
Boots and necklace - Dorothy Perkins

I'm realising that I really need to get a decent floor length mirror  to take outfit pictures with. I have one but it's awful, really small and angled so I will have to get one to hang on the wall.

Anyway, hope you have a lovely evening and will be back tomorrow!

#OOTD // Monday Monochrome

Truth is, I wear black, white and grey a lot. I like the simplicity and crispness of it especially for work.
Do you have a colour combination that you find yourself drawn to often?

#OOTD - and new spring purchases!

I was going to wear my black trousers with this outfit but they were in the wash, so flippy skirt it was. This is happening a lot so I think I could do with a second pair of black work trousers, preferably straight if I can find some that fit well over my thick calves.
Top - Pepperberry
Skirt - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes - M&S
Scarf - Next

Been thinking about buying some bits and pieces out of the new Next catalogue and just ordered these tonight. The mac I have been salivating over since I posted it the other day, although I DO already have a long mac so we will see if I end up keeping it.
Trying out these straight leg trousers for work. These are the "Ultimate" straight leg trousers in black and they have fab reviews.

A pair of nude wedge pumps. I may be behind on the nood shooz train but I could do with another pair of work appropriate shoes or I will run my black ones into the ground in no time.
Two tops. I am really quite bored of my existing summer tops so thought I'd add a couple of new pieces. The black and white one has a lace front which I think is a sweet textural detail and the mint one is to replace a top from last summer that I loved but got a massive hole in so sadly got turned into rags.

Finally. I ordered a watch. My husband will roll his eyes at me as I never wear a watch but see? Pretty!
Ooh I almost forgot these. I have wanted some high tops or sneakers in black for a while now and thought these were so cute.

I can see these getting lots of wear. Hopefully they'll fit!
Have you had your eye on any new Spring Summer purchases? Wardrobe holes you're working on filling?

#OOTD // Style Staples

Last spring I bought 2 simple t shirts from Next that have really been worth their weight in gold. I've worn them to death. They are this striped t shirt and the other has polka dots.
This how I'm wearing my striped t shirt today. Simple but put together outfit. All items are from Next.
I think that a striped t shirt is definitely a wardrobe staple as it ties together so many looks and stops them from looking boring. I've worn mine casually and to work. Here's an example of a work outfit using this t shirt.
Blazer, t shirt and necklace are Next. Trousers from eBay. Shoes are M&S.
Obviously this would be business casual and wouldn't work for a more formal dress code.
I wore this t shirt lots last summer with shorts, similar to this:
How would you style a striped t shirt?

Jackets for Spring

I'm really not sure if I actually need a new jacket for Spring but I am  thinking that it would be nice to freshen up my wardrobe a bit with one. So which to get?

Firstly looking at Next. This short mac is just beautiful.

Also available in yellow:

Being a bit of a rock chick at heart, I also love this:

and this:

Taking a look at Dorothy Perkins next, on the same biker theme, I love this:

More of a blazer, this is pretty:

So difficult to decide! Which do you like? Which would you pick?

#OOTD // Russian Dolls

This top has such a fun print, and is so pretty for spring. I actually sold my original one on eBay, then regretted it and bought another! I am glad I did, what was I thinking??
Cardigan - Jane Norman, old
Top - New Look, old
Jeans - New Look
boots - New Look, old
Necklace - Claire's Accessories

Stylebook

Hi everyone!
Today I want to introduce you to an app that I am really loving for organising and planning what I'm going to wear. It's called Stylebook and it can be found here:
Basically I have all my clothes in my Stylebook. It's like a catalogue of my wardrobe on my iPad. I can plan outfits weeks in advance, put together clothes to take on holiday, see what I have in colour groups, see different ways I've worn a particular item at a glance, and see clothing stats like cost per wear, how often I've worn something, which items are most and least worn, and most cringeworthy, how many items I have and how much my entire wardrobe is worth!
You do have some work upfront in cataloguing your clothes, granted. I tend to look up the item online when I buy something as I don't have a fancy camera to take a picture. Then you edit to to remove the background. The end result looks like a polyvore set. See one I made earlier.
You can organise your outfits any way that you want. I have mine in day/work/evening and in those subsets for seasons.
As you can see I have a lot of work to do with planning my spring and summer wardrobe.
This is the ultimate in geekery I suppose. But my OCD nature thoroughly enjoys it. And it makes getting dressed in the morning so easy. No more agonising and never having anything to wear. I can also view my most worn outfits if I want something tried and tested. I can make notes on an outfit as well. If I fancy wearing something I've not worn in a while I can pick out items that are rarely worn and plan new ways to wear them. I feel that I am making much better use of my existing clothes and as a result I am spending less!
Awesome.
